Animal Pre-Purchase Chemistry Panels
Equine or Farm Animal Pre-Purchase Chemistry Profile (FACP): Recommended prior to purchasing any equine or large farm animal for breeding or pleasure purpose. If resulting values are within normal parameters, a subsequent physical examination should be performed by a licensed veterinarian.
Canine or Feline Pre-purchase Chemistry Profile (BCP-25 plus CBC): Recommended prior to purchasing any purebred canine or feline for breeding purposes. If resulting values are within normal parameters, a subsequent physical examination should be performed by a licensed veterinarian.
When purchasing an animal, whether for pleasure, breeding, show, or other reason, it is important to know what you are buying. Engaging a competent experienced veterinarian for the specific breed or species you are interested in is most important.
A physical examination alone, even including X-rays is not complete without a full blood analysis profile specific to the animal you are interested in.
